Lake Natron - Lake Natron is located north of the Serengeti in northern Tanzania. It is at the base of Ol Doinyo Lengai  (in the Maasai language means “Mountain of God”) is an active volcano.  The lava chutes from the volcano are apparent and very impressive. 

Lake Natron has a very high acidity level. There is a wide variety fo birds (including flamingos and pelicans) that use Lake Natron in their migration patterns.
